Miss Sofia: English Language and English Literature

Miss Sofia

Our English Language and English Literature tutor, Miss Sofia, is a graduate of Columbia University with a major in English and Creative Writing. She achieved a GPA of 3.97 and was on the Dean’s List every semester. She also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in English (Creative Writing - Fiction) from the University of Iowa's renowned Writers’ Workshop, qualifying her to teach at the college level. She graduated from a top-tier K–12 liberal arts private school in New Jersey, USA.

Miss Sofia has experience teaching a wide range of subjects and age groups, including language arts for children aged 6–12, high school English tutoring, an introductory creative writing workshop for undergraduates, and English grammar and conversation for adult ESL learners.

Miss Sofia is available most of the summer for 1:1 or 1:2 online classes.

Online middle school tutoring 

1:1 - USD50 per 45-minute per student  (if for one hour, USD60 per hour) 

1:2 - USD40  per 50-minute per student

1:3 - USD30 per 55-minute  per student

1:4 - USD20 per hour per student

Online primary school tutoring 

1:1 - USD30 per 30-minute per student 

1:2 - USD30 per 40-minute per student  

1:3 - USD25 per 50-minute per student

1:4 - USD25 per hour per student 

Prep

AP English Language and Composition prep: USD85 per hour per student 

AP English Literature and Composition prep: USD85 per hour per student 

Last-minute, one-off review of AP English Language and Composition or AP English Literature and Composition questions: USD95 per hour per student 

Rescheduling policy

Any cancellation or rescheduling of lessons requires 24 hours notice. Any cancellation or rescheduling within 23 hours will be charged a USD10 fee unless the teacher waives the fee for her/his students.
