Rates

For preschool through primary school:

• 1:1 USD30 per student for 30 minutes

• 1:2 or 1:3 = USD25 per student for 40 minutes

Middle school, high school and college students:

• USD35 for parents

Schedule

Weekdays: after 4:30pm (Atlantic Standard Time (GMT -4));

Weekends: 9am-5pm (Atlantic Standard Time (GMT -4))

About Dr. Shirley

Dr. Shirley is an accomplished language educator with a Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). With more than twenty years of university‑level teaching experience, she offers deep expertise in University Chinese ,Chinese Creative Writing, executive Chinese, Cantonese phonetics and Jyutping, Oral Communication Skills, and Chinese Classical Literature.

She has also completed training in child psychology and Cantonese speech therapy, giving her a strong understanding of how learners develop language and communication abilities at different stages. In addition to her extensive work in Hong Kong, Dr. Shirley spent two years teaching in Canadian elementary schools, gaining valuable insight into North American classroom culture and bilingual learning needs.

Known for her patient, engaging teaching style, Dr. Shirley tailors each lesson to the learner’s goals—whether they are building conversational Cantonese, strengthening academic Chinese, improving oral communication, or exploring the richness of classical Chinese texts.

Shirley博士係土生土長嘅香港人，以廣東話為母語。自小對廣東話兒歌、傳說故仔、民間諺語、歇後語、俗語等，都非常感興趣。學習廣東話，除左有一個適合學習嘅語言環境外，更重要係連繫日常生活，先可以令小朋友學以致用。

Shirley 博士會同小朋友一齊喺故事書入面，發掘平時日常生活會用到嘅字詞，除咗令小朋友識聽識講呢啲字詞之外，仲會介紹字詞背後嘅歷史、文化內涵，令小朋友唔單止學識講廣東話，仲可以學到粵語源流與文化，令佢哋可以更全面掌握廣東話。

Rescheduling policy

Any cancellation or rescheduling of lessons requires 24 hours notice. Any cancellation or rescheduling within 23 hours will be charged a USD10 fee unless the teacher waives the fee for her/his students.
